This is the job
The AA has introduced a new Strategy, Planning and Operations function within Group Marketing. This role is integral to the success of the new function, leading on dual day-to-day responsibilities which cover Strategy and Planning across Group Marketing and the transformation of Customer Operations Communications to a more digital-led experience.
You will build up a central view of what everyone across Marketing is up to, with a focus on improving strategic alignment of all group marketing communications (from Brand, to CRM, to Digital Marketing across every business area) through new monthly, quarterly, and annual planning review processes. You will also be supporting the delivery of integral strategic marketing initiatives, such as reviewing group segmentation and evolving marketing effectiveness.
In addition, the Customer Operations part of the role involves operating the day-to-day relationship with our new end-to-end supplier, Paragon, who is responsible for managing fulfilment of all transactional communications and Marketing DMs. As part of a high-profile Marketing transformation project, you will be responsible for working across the business and with Paragon to transform the customer experience to a more effective and efficient operation based on new capability, prioritisation, and focus.
What will I be doing?
Strategy & Planning
* Strategic Marketing Planning: Facilitate and support seamless delivery of newly established Group Marketing monthly, quarterly, and annual planning processes, which provides central marketing visibility and supports P&Ls with their marketing plans. Over time, ensure greater integration across communications and proactively recognise and drive forward new marketing opportunities for growth.
* Strategic Marketing Initiatives: Support delivery of strategic group marketing initiatives, such as evolving existing segmentation and reviewing our approach to Marketing Effectiveness to deliver more insight-led and tracked communications.
* Group Marketing Communications Plan Management: Assist in managing and communicating the overall group marketing communications plan by collaborating closely with Group Marketing and business area marketing leads to provide central plan visibility.
* Group Marketing KPI Visibility: Work alongside the Group Marketing Analyst in harnessing the insight from the monthly Group KPI performance overview, engaging in initiatives that help double down on over-performance or offset under performance to deliver growth.
* Marketing Insight Sharing: Capture, process, and share marketing performance insight across the AA group and elevate existing and new learnings for the benefit of other group marketing areas.
* Unified Messaging Ownership: Manage the day-to-day of Group Marketing Messaging Log, including the central governance that ensures we have key customer-compliant, substantiated, brand-approved marketing messages across every business area.
Customer Operations Communication Transformation
* Transactional and Marketing DM Communication Management: Be across the full suite of transactional and marketing direct-mail communications across the AA group, acting as the day-to-day conduit between business areas and the supplier, ensuring that Paragon is delivering their responsibilities optimally.
* Communications Optimisation: Drive forward an optimised customer experience, helping to transition all communications to a new brand identity and tone, and that we are using optimal communication channels based on audiences.
* Briefing Processes and Foresight: Play a key role in integrated BTL briefing processes working with colleagues in CRM and relevant business areas, to provide adequate planning foresight to Paragon.
* Financial Management: Ensure seamless and timely financial management with internal teams and the supplier and manage the budget in line with agreed spend, liaising with Finance and Procurement.
What do I need?
* Marketing Strategy & Planning: Experience in setting marketing communication plans from diagnostics, to strategy, to tactics. Ideally within a B2C company that has a multi-P&L/product portfolio setup.
