If you’re looking to take the next step in your project management career – the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has the opportunity for you! We are looking for motivated, delivery-focused Project Coordinators to join our team.
Working as part of the Portfolio Management Directorate, you will be at the heart of project delivery working across the NHSBSA.
The NHSBSA is undertaking a challenging and exciting change portfolio in line with our strategic goals and emerging service needs. Our change portfolio delivers projects to support NHS organisations, patients, and the public.
Project Coordinators work closely with our Programme and Project Managers. You will be responsible for the delivery of your allocated workstreams and projects in line with agreed plans, and the NHSBSA’s Project Management Framework.
We’re looking for Project Coordinators with experience managing or coordinating projects/workstreams, and knowledge of core project management processes. Excellent stakeholder engagement and strong communication skills are a must for the role.

Main duties of the job
* Responsible for the planning and end-to-end delivery of projects/workstreams in accordance with the NHSBSA Project Management Framework.
* Responsible for the coordination of project teams in line with achieving the project’s outputs.
* Reporting project progress accurately and concisely to stakeholders through project reports and maintaining information in the Programme and Project Management (PPM) Tool.
* Facilitating the identification and ongoing management of project risks.
* Ensuring project budget is agreed and monitoring expenditure against project deliverables.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
In this role, you are accountable for:
Project Delivery:
* Lead the change initiative, work package, work stream or small project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost, and quality constraints.
* Deliver change initiative, work package, work stream or small project in line with the NHSBSA Project Management Frameworks, and both internal and external assurance frameworks as appropriate.
Project Management:
* Day to day coordination of the project and the project team.
Planning and Scheduling:
* Assist with and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling.
Business Case:
* Coordinate development of the Business Case.
Budget:
* Assist with the monitor of project spend and contribute to the compilation of budgets.
* Ensure all expenditure is governed in accordance with NHSBSA Standing Financial Instructions and DHSC / Cabinet Office spend controls
Resources:
* Schedule/manage resources to deliver the project.
* Work as part of a small team.

Personal Qualities, Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
* Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and be a collaborative team player
* A delivery focused mindset and approach
* Knowledge of the fundamental project management processes (e.g., risk, budget, and benefit management)
* IT skills: MS Office 365 suite, MS Teams, MS Project, MS SharePoint etc.
Desirable criteria
* An awareness of the NHSBSA’s strategy
* Knowledge of Government Functional Standards for Project Management GovS002
* Specialist subject knowledge relevant to project profession
Experience
Essential criteria
* Track record of coordinating or managing the delivery of change initiatives/workstreams/small projects
* Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
* Experience of working in an environment where adherence to standards needs to be met
Desirable criteria
* Experience of budgetary management and reporting
* Experience of stakeholder engagement and management
* Experience of working within Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid Project Management methodologies
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Degree standard, or significant relevant experience of working within a formal project delivery environment.
Desirable criteria
* Specialist Project Management qualification - e.g., APM Fundamentals, PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner
* Further education/Training Course certification(s) in relevant discipline
