Jackson Hogg have partnered with a specialist engineering business in the South Shields business on the appointment of a Quality Engineer to join the team.
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for a team of x4 Quality Inspectors and will report directly into the QHSE Manager.
Quality Engineer Responsibilities
1. Internal and external quality concern management and reporting through internal no-conformance system including supplier warranty control.
2. Support the QHSE Manager in maintaining the ISO9001 certification on site.
3. Provide advice, support and guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure quality control processes are adequate, effective and any issues are accurately recorded in the non-conformance system.
4. Take ownership of the internal non-conformance process ensuring issues are accurately recorded, are closed out successfully, with lessons learned being communicated to all stakeholders.
5. Write, maintain and review all quality related standard operations.
6. Cross-functional review of all non-quality related standard operations.
7. Carry out internal audits of the quality management system and internal processes.
8. Collate key metric data both internal and external and report findings against KPI's at the desired frequency.
9. Support all internal departments and suppliers in all quality related issues.
10. Utilise data capture, analysis, and action generation to bring about improvements in operational areas.
11. Work in collaboration with procurement to audit the supply chain using a risk-based approach audit program.
12. Carry out supplier audits in line with the agreed frequency and timescales.
Quality Engineer Requirements
1. Hold a recognised engineering qualification.
2. Experience of working to ISO9001 and other recognised standards.
3. Strong background of working within an engineering or manufacturing discipline.
4. Root cause analysis using 8D and 5 Whys.
5. Full UK Driving Licence.
