Job overview
We are looking for an individual to undertake a Technical Instructor post within the Medicine Therapy Team at the University Hospital of North Midlands. The post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital across acute wards at Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital.
The successful candidate should have experience of working within a healthcare environment and an understanding of Therapy interventions. The post holder will also be expected to complete competencies in both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Therapy Services operate within a 7-day shift system, therefore there is a requirement to work late shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
Supervision will be provided by the Band 5/6/7 Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist, and personal development is supported through appraisal and internal and external training.
Main duties of the job
The Therapies Department comprises two multidisciplinary teams: the Medical & Surgical Team and the Specialised Services Team, incorporating both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.

* Elective Orthopaedics In Patients and Outpatients
* Obstetrics and Gynaecology Inpatients/Outpatients
Person specification
Education & Qualifications
* GCSE English Grade C/4 or above or evidence of good literacy
* GCSE Maths Grade C/4 or above or evidence of good numeracy
* GCSE Science Grade C/4 or above
* Completed or undertaking a Therapy Apprenticeship
* Qualification within health/social or sports environment
Experience
* Experience in an NHS or other Healthcare/social/Sports environment
* Experience of working in a therapy environment
* NHS experience
Skills, Ability & Knowledge
* Ability to travel to and work across multiple sites
