Do you want to work in a new natural learning nursery? We are looking for passionate, fun, and caring people to join our team on a 40-hour contract over 4 or 5 days. Shifts will range from 7-6, 7-3, 9-5, and 10-6.

Job Purpose: The role of the Early Years Educator is to work alongside colleagues under the direction of the management team, to guide and advise on practice, ensuring the best possible progress for all children. To develop high-quality practice and provision for all children. To support all children to reach their full potential, particularly in their prime areas of development. To identify children in need of additional support to meet age-related outcomes and to implement a range of early intervention strategies. To ensure all children are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences that meet their individual needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Childcare & Education:
* Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources, and experiences offered to children.
* Observe, support, and extend children's learning.
* Support staff in delivering learning opportunities in the room.
* Plan appropriately for the EYFS and ensure rich and diverse outdoor play experiences are offered.
* Maintain accurate and effective children’s records.
* Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
* Demonstrate good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion.
* Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary follow, Child Protection Procedures.
* Work alongside parents/carers of special needs children to provide full integration in the setting.
* Ensure the nutritional needs of the children are met and Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
* Comply with the statutory framework for the EYFS and relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
* Develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with advisory teachers, schools, and other agencies that may visit the setting.
* Learn about current developments in childcare and education policy and practice.
* Be a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.
* Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the project is fulfilled.
* Share responsibility with fellow colleagues for observation, assessment, monitoring, and record keeping of children’s learning experiences and development using a variety of methods to inform our planning.
* Contribute to partnership working to ensure that the children have access to appropriate experiences to support their physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development while being aware of families’ ethnic, cultural, and linguistic development.
* Provide learning experiences that challenge and enable all children to develop in confidence and independence within a stimulating environment.
* Nurture positive relationships with children ensuring their emotional wellbeing and promoting their confidence and self-esteem.
Health & Safety:
* Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety, and cleanliness throughout the nursery.
* Ensure the general cleanliness of the children at all times.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures e.g., fire precautions, security, dropping off and collection of children.
* Operate the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the bedding and nappy changing area and food surface areas.
* Respect the confidentiality of information received.
* Undertake all safeguarding training that is provided for you inclusive of in-house.
General:
* Develop and promote parental partnership and involvement.
* Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by line management.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
* Be prepared to undertake additional training and qualifications.
* Attend and be involved with out of working hours activities, e.g., training, planning/staff meetings, Christmas party, etc.
* Undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g., preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, and other such duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the manager.
* Look upon the setting as a "whole" where your help can be most utilized, be constantly aware of the needs of children.
* Support the establishment of a culture of reflection through continuous review of strengths and areas of development, leading to actions for improvement that impact on quality.
* Through hands-on practice under the direction of your line manager, lead the development of high-quality child-centered play-based provision, developmentally appropriate for children from 6 weeks to 36 months, providing a nurturing environment to promote children’s emotional stability, independence, autonomy, and creativity.
* Model good practice and uphold the principles of inclusion and equal opportunities in all aspects of the role, supporting early identification and intervention strategies at all times.
