This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Advanced Practitioner or a Superintendent Radiographer in Breast Imaging, to join our team at East Cheshire NHS Trust.
We provide symptomatic services at East Cheshire NHS Trust and oversee screening services for East Cheshire, Mid Cheshire and Stockport.
We have an eligible breast screening population of approximately 121,000 women.
At the East Cheshire (Macclesfield District General Hospital) site there are 3 Siemens Mammography rooms and 3 Ultrasound rooms. Mid Cheshire (Leighton Hospital) has 3 Siemens Mammography rooms and 2 Ultrasound rooms. Our modern mobile screening unit serves the population of Stockport and has a remote digital transfer system.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we introduce Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography.
The post holder will be a key member of our friendly breast imaging leadership team and must have previous experience of day to day management within a breast unit.
Hours per week: 37.5
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Lead you will support the Radiology General manager, Director of Breast screening and the Breast Screening Programme Manager to deliver a high quality, patient focused service, implementing new technologies and clinical developments. You will act as a role model and point of contact for the radiographic team.
Successful candidate will be responsible for:
* the management and day-to day running of the specialized services pertaining to the unit
* the management and development of the specialist service ensuring optimum use of staffing and equipment resources within the modalities.
* the professional leadership and training of the team, providing a high quality patient focused service.
In addition they will:
* maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to patients.
* develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development.
* ensure maintenance of equipment and a safe working environment.
* provide a service to patients across all sites.
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Radiographic Qualification (DCR or BSc Radiography)
* Post graduate certificate/award in Mammography
* HCPC Registration
* Management qualification
* Evidence of clinical leadership and mentorship
* Experience of managing change
* Experience of working with digital imaging and PACS in a breast unit
Knowledge and Skills
