This role is offered on a Variable Hours contract for services, giving you the flexibility to choose whether to accept work offered to you. We’ll provide an approximate number of hours you may asked to work, however there is no obligation for work to be offered, and there’s no obligation for you to accept the work offered.
The opportunity
As our Catering & Hospitality Teacher you’ll inspire the next generation of industry professionals through engaging, hands-on teaching and assessment. Working closely with the Course Leader, you’ll deliver high-quality lessons that align with the curriculum and support our students’ personal and professional growth. Your enthusiasm and real-world insights will motivate our learners, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
You will play an integral role in delivering engaging, practical lessons across Catering and Hospitality courses, including Levels 2 and 3. Drawing on your expertise in food preparation, service, health and safety, and business operations, you’ll equip our students with valuable, real-world knowledge that sets them up for success in the industry.
Your lessons will inspire learners, using industry insights and interactive demonstrations to bring the subject to life. You’ll support students in achieving their qualifications through regular assessments, tailored guidance, and detailed progress reviews, ensuring each learner reaches their potential.
Day-to-day, you’ll assess student work, monitor individual learning plans, and adapt your approach to meet the diverse needs of your learners. Building positive relationships with students, you’ll foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages confidence and achievement.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll take an active role in departmental activities, whether it’s welcoming visitors, addressing queries, or contributing to the smooth running of the team.
About you
Ideally, you will be an experienced and passionate Catering & Hospitality professional, ready to inspire the next generation with your skills and knowledge. With a wealth of experience in food preparation, service, health and safety, and business operations, you’re confident sharing your expertise and bringing lessons to life for learners at Levels 2 and 3.
Your enthusiasm for education shines through in everything you do. Whether you’ve already gained teaching experience or are stepping into the classroom for the first time, you’re eager to help students build their confidence and develop the skills they need to succeed in the catering and hospitality industry. You know how to deliver lessons that are engaging, creative, and tailored to different learning styles, and you’re always ready to adapt to meet the needs of every learner.
Organisation and support are your strengths. You’re great at tracking progress, giving personalised feedback, and guiding students to achieve their goals. As a true team player, you love contributing to departmental activities, sharing ideas, and supporting preparations for external moderation.

Required
* GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent Level 2 qualifications).
* A Level 2 or higher Food Hygiene qualification.
* A recognised teaching qualification, or a commitment to work towards achieving a Level 6 PGCE if not already held.
* At least 5 years' experience in the catering and hospitality industry
