Our client, a prestigious institution, is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Assistant to join their team. As a key member of the food and beverage service team, you will assist in delivering exceptional service across a variety of events and functions, including cafeteria lunches, fine dining, College feasts, student cafes, bars, and buffets. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality service in all food and beverage outlets within the College, assisting with the preparation and delivery of food and drinks to both College members and commercial customers, as directed by the Duty Food Service/Bar Supervisor.
* Follow clocking-in and clocking-out procedures as set by the Duty Food Service Supervisor.
* Operate tills and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed, including verifying student ID cards for access to services.
* Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, staff, students, Fellows, conference delegates, and other customers.
* Participate in relevant training sessions to continually improve your skills.
* Support the team in ensuring conference seminar/function rooms are properly set and serviced according to event details, including handling any audio-visual requirements.
* Assist in bar or café duties as required, including setting up for commercial events (training will be provided).
* Dispense drinks in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act when working in bars and event drink receptions.
Health and Safety:
* Uphold excellent hygiene standards by following all Health and Safety and hygiene regulations in line with current legislation, as well as assisting with hygiene schedules when necessary.
* Be vigilant regarding the health and safety of all individuals in the College environment, including students, staff, and visitors.
* Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times. Uniforms are provided by the College and must be worn during shifts, kept clean, and well-maintained (a small deposit may be required for the hire of the uniform).
Security and Confidentiality:
* Ensure all security procedures are strictly followed, including safeguarding College rooms, equipment, silver, food, drinks, and cash handling at all times.
* Maintain confidentiality and ensure that no sensitive information is disclosed to third parties that may compromise privacy or safety.
Miscellaneous:
* Undertake any additional duties as required by the Food Service Supervisory team or Catering Management.

* Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in hospitality, catering, or service.

* Strong proficiency in spoken and written English to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
