Clarendon Academy is looking for a dynamic i ndividual to join us as either a current Thrive Practitioner or to develop and qualify as a Thrive Practitioner to support some of our fantastic students across the school and its provisions. This is a wonderful opportunity to join our dedicated team of pastoral and support staff. Contract: Permanent. Working Hours: Part Time (30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year including Teacher Training days). Required: ASAP. Clarendon Academy is a thriving co-educational, non-denominational secondary school and sixth form, educating young people between the ages of 11 and 18. Applicants must be able to work across all age ranges and abilities within our school and be prepared to work flexibly to support all students including those with additional needs, including those requiring SEN support, liaising with teachers, enhanced provision leaders and our SENCO. The role will be varied and include: Working with both individual students and small groups to develop the social and emotional skills to succeed in both school and beyond; Supporting students within our enhanced provisions; Carrying out restorative work between students; Helping students develop their resilience skills to succeed within their lessons. We are looking for someone who: Has at least grade C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent; Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for young people and supporting them in their development; Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and are able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents; Is self-motivated, dedicated and consistent; Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations; Is a strong team player, good at building relationships; Has a confident, resilient and flexible attitude; Is organised and enthusiastic; Enjoys working with young people and can develop good working relationships with them; Understands and is sympathetic to the needs of young people, including their social, emotional and mental wellbeing; Has experience of supporting student’s learning. Formal or informal experience of Thrive in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
