Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader position. As a Production Team Leader, you will oversee a small production team to deliver the daily operational plans within your area. This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside team members to keep a production line or area running.
Ensuring the processes, production and quality of our products meet the safest and highest specifications as per customer and company requirements, the Team Leader will work with their supervisor to create a dynamic and friendly environment for their teams to work in.
Administration duties include (but are not limited to):
* Ensure the daily plans are delivered for your area and escalate any production issues to the Supervisor as required.
* Ensure your teams comply with company and legislative health & safety, food safety and personal hygiene procedures and regulations.
* Participate in training of procedures and ensure the team follows them correctly.
* Assist the Supervisor in the department to achieve or improve performance targets.
* Ensure that agreed GMP standards are maintained, and green results are achieved on weekly audits by the technical team.
* Promote team training and development by conducting team appraisals and on-the-job training.
* Provide cover for the Supervisor in their absence.
* Manage the break times of your team.
* Represent the company’s high standards at all times and conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner.
* Ensure that all required paperwork for your shift is completed and systems updated.
* Any other tasks as reasonably requested by your line manager.
Requirements, experience, and person specification:
* Experience of working as a successful Team Leader or Operative in a Food Manufacturing role.
* Good knowledge of basic food hygiene / health and safety principles.
* Good literacy & numeracy levels – able to write and speak in English.
* Good reliability and good timekeeping.
* Conscientious with a good ability to communicate with others.
* Willingness to learn and be a good team player.
* Leads by example and can create a positive working environment for their teams.
* Takes a co-operative, enthusiastic, and orderly approach, helping to complete production tasks when required.
* Flexible approach with the ability to carry out a wide variety of tasks and adapt to the changing needs of the company.
* Able to demonstrate our site behaviours and values.
