The role is part of the Operational Engineering group and the role holder will manage and provide engineering planning, SAP data maintenance and training for the maintenance operations on site. The role provides direct oversight of the designated supplier for Engineering stores. The role is a combination of managing a team and hands on delivery of a service.
Number of reports: Upto 10 contract workers (CWs).
Key Responsibilities:
* As the single point of contact, provide the direct oversight of the Engineering Stores and the designated service provider as per Global and Site Service Level Agreements, and accountable for department budget, spend and management of site Engineering spares inventory.
* Provide technical expertise to Engineering Planners across Operational Engineering, and regularly interact with Engineering Planners to discuss progress / concerns.
* Drive continuous improvement of the maintenance life plans and maintenance planning process - Generating integrated engineering maintenance life plans using GPS principles with the Engineering Team Managers, Value Stream Management, Operations Team Managers, Professional Engineers and Supply Chain Coordinators.
* Problem solve to help ensure the routine maintenance workload and ensure out of tolerance dates for statutory and GMP routines are not exceeded.
* Manager Engineering Planners to agree work plans with cross site functions - Developing optimum solutions to match engineering work with plant and engineering personnel and other resource availability through the Engineering Capacity Statements.
* To produce planning metrics to enable performance monitoring.
* Own site implementation of Global Engineering Standards and Global Quality Policy for engineering maintenance management, and act as Authorised Person for Site maintenance procedures and M-ERP Plant Maintenance system functionality.
* Represent site in Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) Global Community of Practice.
* Manage invoice discrepancies (quantity and price) for Engineering Spares procurement on site.
* Manage specialist contractors for maintenance plans and maintenance data work programs.
About You:
This role would suit a motivated person who has strong experience of working in a complex GMP environment. You will be a qualified engineer, with strong people skills. It is imperative in this role that you demonstrate an ability to drive common-thinking with a complete focus on providing solutions. You will need to be persuasive, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and have proven experience dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups. Ideally you will have worked in a highly regulated industry.
About Ware Manufacturing Site:
We are co-located with our R&D colleagues and recently opened a new, state-of-the-art oral solid dose facility at Ware. At this location our scientists, technicians and engineers (from R&D and Global Supply Chain – GSC) work collaboratively together (using the latest technologies) to rapidly knowledge transfer and deliver GSK’s most innovative, medicines faster and more efficiently. On site we produce over 60 million respiratory inhalers each year with growing demand in future years. The site also processes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) for use both on site and other manufacturing sites in our network.

Basic Qualifications:
* Relevant qualifications and / or experience is essential (eg; BEng or Incorporated Engineer Status)
* Required to demonstrate knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), understands its impact on their own role and the implications of not following cGMP
