EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high-speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We're changing the way our industry works for the better, and we want you to be a part of it.
We're actively recruiting a Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to join our team based in the Greatworth to Southam Area.
As a TWC, you will be required to manage and co-ordinate the specification, design, approval, checking, installation, maintenance, and removal of all necessary temporary works (TW). Your responsibilities include:
1. Identifying all TW and recording on the TW Control Register.
2. Assessing the risk level of all TW and recording on the TW Control Register.
3. Preparing Design Briefs with full consultation of those involved, ensuring they are adequate and in accordance with the actual situation on site.
4. Ensuring TW design and design checks are carried out, as well as ensuring a Design Check Certificate or similar is available, where required.
5. Issuing designs to interested parties (e.g., Client, Principal Designer).
6. Preparing a Safe System of Work for the erection, use, and dismantling of the TW, ensuring it is communicated to and understood by those involved.
7. Providing full details of the design, including any limitations or constraints associated with the TW, to those responsible for the erection of TW.
8. Inspecting TW during construction to ensure the adequacy of materials.
9. Ensuring ground conditions, general site conditions, and loadings are as stated on the Design Brief or the TW design assumptions.
10. Identifying Hold Points (Permit to Load/Unload) and ensuring they are known by all involved and not passed until a Permit is issued.
11. Checking that anyone carrying out bespoke fabrication of temporary works is competent.
Temporary Works experience is essential. You should have:
1. Working knowledge of civil engineering projects.
2. HNC in Construction or equivalent qualification (desirable).
