We offer support, resources and specialist advice to communities and partners across a wide range of topic areas connected to rural community life. About the role We have a vacancy to join our team to support the delivery of our New Life on the Old West (NLOW) project. This is a project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund which has recently been extended to end of September 2025. We are looking to recruit a skilled individual to the part-time role of Natural Heritage and Communities Officer. Alongside another colleague in the same role, the Natural Heritage and Communities Officer will work with partners, communities and landowners to ensure the successful delivery of the NLOW project by co-ordinating habitat improvements, ensuring robust monitoring of results, disseminating information and creating opportunities for local people to learn about and connect with the diverse Fenland natural landscape. The successful candidate will have a passion for nature conversation and supporting local people to be more involved. You will work closely with community groups and volunteers, enabling them to look after their community green spaces, take part in citizen science and to undertake ecological monitoring activities. You will need to be an excellent communicator, both in person and through written means, as promoting the project and its activities will be a key part of this role. As we enter the last two years of the project’s delivery, we will be looking to share our learning with a range of audiences so we leave a lasting legacy. We are looking for someone who is able to manage their own time and workload and who has excellent administration skills, as the role involve a great deal of organisation of activities, training and events.
