Job Title : Procurement Specialist
Salary : £30,000 - £32,000
Location : Port Talbot
Hours : 37.5 hours per week (8:30 - 16:30), full-time, on-site
Overview :
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Specialist to join a well-established company in the manufacturing sector. If you have strong experience in procurement, particularly in a manufacturing environment, along with excellent negotiation and communication skills, this role could be ideal for you. You will play a key role in managing the procurement process and driving efficiencies within the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities :
* Raising raw material purchase orders in line with ERP system requirements.
* Sending out RFQs (Request for Quotations) to suppliers and negotiating prices and delivery terms.
* Identifying opportunities for improvement within procurement and material functions, focusing on reducing stock levels, shortening supplier lead times, and improving stock availability.
* Participating in production meetings to ensure that material availability supports production requirements.
* Managing the sourcing process and ERP transactions to optimise internal efficiency and minimise costs.
* Working closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve procurement-related issues or discrepancies.
Key Skills and Experience :
* At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a procurement role within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong proficiency in IT, particularly with Excel and ERP systems.
* Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines and make informed decisions under pressure.
* A proactive, methodical, and organised approach to tasks.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining collaborative relationships.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills within a manufacturing organisation.
* GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades A-C).
