We deliver our programme to schools/nurseries.
Our services are public classes (weekend, afterschool), school holiday camps and birthday parties.
Our aim at Mini Athletics Newcastle is to give children:
- A positive introduction to sport in a fun and imaginative way.
- Enhance athleticism at the youngest possible age.
- Improve sporting confidence which leads to greater participation and improved sporting performance later on in life.
- Build cognitive and social skills, preparing them for the early learning goals.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Coach to join our team. As a Coach, you will be responsible for providing sports coaching and education to athletes between the ages of 1 to 7 years old. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the development and success of our athletes.
Duties:
* Provide instruction and guidance during practice sessions and competitions
* Lead, motivate and engage children to reach their full potential
* Foster a positive and supportive team environment
* Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and other coaches
* Ensure the safety of all participants during training sessions and competitions
* Welcome and acknowledge all participants upon arrival of each class with enthusiasm
* Maintain the attendance register and manage administration of non-payers, informing the head office of any anomalies
* Maintain authority over the class in a clear and concise manner and promptly address any disruptive behaviour by following our procedures
* Ensure classes commence and finish on time
* Work through the Mini Athletics program to teach the basic core athletic development skills in a fun and structured environment using equipment and apparatus provided
* Follow the lesson plans provided by Mini Athletics Newcastle
* Encourage team spirit and patience amongst the team by doing appropriate games and tasks in groups and individually
Experience:
* Previous experience working with children
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to motivate and inspire athletes
* Patience and understanding when working with individuals of different skill levels
* Organizational skills to plan and manage training sessions effectively
