Job Description:
DEPUTY MANAGER - Residential Position
Salary: £37,076 per year + Overtime for extra shifts
Role Overview: This role involves supporting vulnerable young people within a therapeutic residential care environment. The Residential Deputy Manager will assist the Registered Manager in providing leadership, ensuring the home operates in line with regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality care to children with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership
2. Compliance: Maintain standards aligned with regulations, safeguarding protocols, and organisational policies.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with external agencies, authorities, and families to support care plans and outcomes.
4. Operational Support: Deputise for the Registered Manager, including attending meetings, handling documentation, and addressing operational challenges.
5. Crisis and Incident Management: Manage incidents professionally, conduct reviews, and implement risk management strategies.
6. Training and Development: Coach and mentor staff.
Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in a relevant field (or equivalent). Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
2. Experience: Two years of experience working with children displaying challenging behaviours, preferably in a residential setting. At least one year of experience managing or supervising staff.
3. Other Requirements: Valid UK driving license (held for at least one year, with no more than three penalty points). Ability to pass all necessary background checks.
Additional Information:
Hours: Full-time (38 hours per week), including a mix of weekday, weekend, and overnight shifts.
Holidays: 33 days per year, including bank holidays.
Probationary Period: Six months (may be extended if necessary).
