Salary: £90,000 - £112,000 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
As a member of the Offshore Development and Delivery Team, the Deputy Project Director reports directly to the Project Director and will deputise for the Project Director in their absence.
You will
1. Assist the Project Director in the development, refinement and delivery of a programme of projects, or individual projects, at different stages of definition and maturity; specifically, the safe and successful delivery of high value and complex HVDC Interconnector projects. These may be executed under a Joint Venture.
2. Develop, refine and execute the project to meet or exceed the project objectives and economic measures approved at each SSENT Large Capital Project Governance Framework Gates, and as identified within the Project Development Plan during Development and Refinement phases and the Project Execution Plan during the Execution phase, as delegated by the Project Director.
3. Be responsible for the development and administration of Ofgem Regulatory submissions, as delegated by the Project Director.
4. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners, to positively influence and impact upon the delivery of the Project and wider SSEN Transmission and SSE business objectives.
5. Support the Project Director in the design and development of project structures and resources for the safe delivery of projects on time in a consistent manner with effective governance, financial, commercial, quality and risk management disciplines.
You have
1. Extensive experience in project delivery (preferably in the electricity generation/transmission sectors) with direct responsibility and experience in the management and leadership of large capital projects as a senior or lead project manager.
2. Strong and demonstrable experience of preparation, negotiation and execution of NEC3 and FIDIC contracts, especially in a multi contract delivery model environment with individual contract values more than £100M.
3. In-depth knowledge and experience of the HVDC and/or AC industry and delivery, preferably with offshore cable delivery/converter station experience.
4. Advanced knowledge and understanding of project management systems, project controls and governance arrangements for the development and execution of large capital projects.
5. Excellent communication skills both written and verbally and experience of communicating with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels, preferably including direct experience of Ofgem engagement.
