Job overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Highly Specialist Cognitive Behavioural or Applied Psychologist to join Durham and Darlington Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the clinical leadership team across our Getting Help Services, including the Getting Help Team and Mental Health Support Teams in Schools. You will provide direct clinical work with children, young people, and their families alongside supervision, consultation, and training to other members of the team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to undertake direct clinical work with children and families, provide clinical supervision, advice, consultation, and training to other members of the service, and will play a key role in continuing to develop the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working of the team.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology as accredited by the BPS
* HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
* Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
* Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees
* Evidence of continuing professional development
Experience
* Working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service
* Exercising full clinical responsibility for clients’ psychological care as a care coordinator within the context of a multidisciplinary team
* Teaching, training and clinical supervision
Knowledge/Skills
* Risk assessment and risk management
* Communicate highly complex and sensitive information effectively
* Evidence-based practice relevant to the role
