Data Center Infrastructure Engineer, Data Center Operations

We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities include:
1. 7x24 roster duty in data center operations
2. Incident first responder and onsite hands-on support
3. Break-fix and troubleshooting according to process guidelines
4. Maintain proper media operations according to process guidelines
5. Capacity landing and decommissioning according to process guidelines
6. Site management and maintain tidiness in operation areas
7. Innovate and contribute from day-to-day operation experiences to improve operation efficiency
A Day in the Life
You will experience a typical day of DCO in Amazon with:
1. Take ownership of technical issues, utilizing cross-team collaboration when needed to drive resolution
2. Strive for operations excellence and innovate improvement ideas
3. Use ticket system to prioritize and track the installation, diagnosis, and hardware or network issues
4. Maintain service level agreements through the rapid response to emergency issues

Minimum Requirements
1. 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
2. Degree / High Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Information Technology / Computer Science / Engineering or related disciplines
3. Experience in network cabling, including optical, sound understanding on incident response and prioritization, experience in network cabling, and implement innovative ideas to improve processes
4. 1+ years of data center experience
5. Knowledge of network troubleshooting, fiber optics cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies
6. Able to communicate concisely with relevant context supported by data points
