Job Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost engineering, contract management, or a related field, with previous experience working on complex projects within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain cost plans and cost estimates for various projects, ensuring value for money and effective budget management.
You will also oversee contract communication, including early warnings, project manager's instructions, and compensation events.
Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and maintaining cost plans and cost estimates for various projects.
* Managing project budgets to ensure value for money.
* Coordinating contract communication, including notifications and instructions.
* Negotiating disputes and potential disputes through collaborative working and escalation.
Qualifications and Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A degree in a relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field.
* Previous experience in a cost engineer, contract management, or commercial role within the construction or infrastructure sectors, preferably working on projects over £10 million.
* A thorough understanding of NEC and JCT contracts, as well as web-based contract management tools.
