SEN Autism and ADHD Specialist
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2024
Overview:
We are looking for an SEN Specialist TA in Milton Keynes. This school supports up to 8 male students aged 11-18, each with autistic profiles and associated challenges such as anxiety, speech, language, and communication barriers. These factors prevent them from thriving in larger settings. In a nurturing environment, students receive guidance from their key workers to tackle and overcome learning obstacles. You need to be adaptable and resilient, as you may assist in different classrooms as needed. Experience in a care setting is beneficial, as some personal care support may be required for students who are not yet toilet trained.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support and care to students with SEN.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
* Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons and activities that meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
* Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
Requirements:
* A minimum of six months of SEN experience in the UK.
* Experience working with students with autism, anxiety, and communication barriers.
* A valid and up-to-date DBS on the Update Service.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools).
* Strong communication skills to effectively work with students, teachers, and parents.
* Skills in managing challenging behaviours and promoting a positive learning environment.
* Adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and adjust approaches as needed.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are desirable but not essential.
Benefits:
* Competitive salary and benefits package.
* Opportunity to work in a school committed to providing high-quality education and support.
* Supportive and collaborative team environment, with ongoing professional development opportunities.
* Chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with SEN and contribute to their personal and academic growth.
How to Apply:
If you are passionate about teaching and are committed to making a difference in the lives of young learners, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a covering letter outlining your suitability for the role.
