Contribute to the effective management of an educational establishment to benefit children and the wider community, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and guidance issued by the Scottish Government and East Ayrshire Council. This role supports the promotion, delivery, and integration of the Council’s key objectives, specifically relating to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement, Children and Young Person’s Service Plan, and Best Value.
Requirements
The duties involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants must become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member concerning Regulated Work with these groups, or if already a member, undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update, prior to a formal employment offer from East Ayrshire Council.

The Individual
This is a temporary full-time position based at Mount Carmel Primary School, Kilmarnock. The role involves 35 hours per week, working under the direction of the Line Manager.
The successful candidate must hold a Catholic Teaching Certificate and seek RC approval.
The annual salary is £66,606. The position is temporary until 26th June 2026.
