Due to our team expanding, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and conscientious Medical Receptionist with excellent communication skills to join our friendly practice team.
This role will also include cover for enhanced access, Wednesday evenings, occasional Saturday, and occasional 8:00 PM finish on a Friday.
Main duties of the job
* Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
* Process personal, telephone, and e-requests for appointments
* Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately.
* Signpost patients to the correct service
* Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies
* Manage correspondence on SystmOne.
* Photocopy documentation as required
* Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
* Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary
* Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters, and DVLA forms to the administrative team
* Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
* Carry out system searches as requested
* Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
* Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

Brig Royd Surgery is looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, resourceful, and experienced Medical Receptionist.

Our current clinical team comprises 6 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 ANPs, 2 Practice nurses, 2 Health Care Assistants, and support teams.
With a list size of approximately 10,500, we are a high-achieving QOF practice based in purpose-built surroundings, CQC rated good.
Job responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the reception manager/practice manager depending on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
* Receive and route patients on arrival and departure.
* Process personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits, and telephone consultations, ensuring callers are directed to the correct healthcare professional.
* Process, scan, and distribute incoming (and outgoing) mail in set procedures.
* Effectively take messages and pass on information following practice procedures.
* Process repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
* Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.
* Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, other team members, and associated healthcare agencies and providers.
* Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.
* File and retrieve paperwork.
* Retrieve/file medical records when needed by a doctor or nurse.
* Receive and sort new patient records for summary (using practice guidelines) for summary by the notes summariser.
Any other duties, which may, from time to time, be deemed necessary.
