Grade Deputy Manager - £30,481.68 pa Reporting to Strategic Partnerships Manager Location Central Office, 449 Antrim Road, Belfast, BT15 3BJ Contract Permanent Scope of Responsibility Depaul is a cross border charity supporting some of the most marginalised individuals, couples and families experiencing homelessness. To work as a key member of Depaul’s Fundraising and Communications Department, implementing and developing corporate and community fundraising activity in Northern Ireland to raise funds to support people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. Hours 35 hours per week, this role is mainly office based but some hybrid working may be considered. Some work during evenings and weekends will be required and time off in lieu applies for extra hours worked. Key Areas of Responsibility 1. Overall Work Objectives 1. To work as part of Depaul’s cross-border Fundraising and Communications team to implement and input to the development of the Fundraising and Communications Strategy. 2. Priority focus to develop fundraising activity to drive income generation in Northern Ireland by securing support from corporates, communities, and individuals and through events, activities, and campaigns. 3. Contribute to the growth of Depaul’s profile in Northern Ireland by supporting the delivery of internal and external communications to media and other stakeholders to motivate support for Depaul’s work. 4. With colleagues, strengthen data management systems to support the development and delivery of the fundraising strategy. 5. Ensur e that relationships with donors and prospective donors are managed in an effective, timely and a personal manner. 6. Provide regular insights, analysis, and reporting to your line manager on fundraising and communications activity in Northern Ireland. 2. Responsibilities Corporate Fundraising To implement and drive the Corporate Fundraising strategy for Depaul in Northern Ireland in conjunction with your Line Manager. To lead on developing relationships with existing and new corporate partner’s in Northern Ireland with support from your Line Manager. To network externally to promote the work of Depaul, highlighting opportunities for potential corporate partnerships. To maintain regular communications with corporate partners on potential collaborative fundraising and engagement activities. To work with your Line Manager on cross border corporate partnerships. Daily administration and duties related to Corporate partnerships. Community Fundraising To implement Depaul’s C ommunity Fundraising strategy in Northern Ireland, with support from the Community Fundraising Deputy Manager in the Republic of Ireland and in conjunction with your L ine M anager. To lead on engaging Community supporters, including schools, colleges and clubs etc. in Northern Ireland. To develop and deliver community fundraising events and act as a first point of contact for Northern Ireland fundraising activities. Communications To support, as part of the team, t he implementation and delivery of Depaul’s C ommunication strategy to promote Depaul ’s profile and protect our reputation in Northern Ireland. To assist with gathering and developing content (impact stories / photos / videos) from Northern Ireland services for use in communications, with media, and on social media channels. Updating media contact lists for Northern Ireland and assisting proactively and reactively with key communic ations events and activities in the region. General Responsibilities To participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs. To ensure that all Depaul policies and procedures are being adhered to, particularly those relating to Fundraising compliance, Health and Safety, Code of Practice, Confidentiality and Equal Opportunities. Undertake any other duties that may be required which are commensurate with the role. Person Requirements CRITERIA: Education & Experience ● Formal qualification in marketing / business / fundraising and at least 1 years’ experience working within a fundraising / development department. Sales / marketing experience may also be taken into consideration. OR ● At least 2 years paid experience working within a fundraising / development department. Sales / marketing experience may also be taken into consideration. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities ● Strong IT experience, to include Microsoft Office and, ideally, a Fundraising or sales database. ● Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to communicate effectively with donors and supporters as well as across internal staff teams. ● Ability to liaise effectively and network with a broad range of people and organisations to promote fundraising for Depaul. ● Ability to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a team, to meet specific fundraising objectives and targets. ● An understanding of the key skills required for successful charity fundraising, especially in the area of corporate fundraising. ● An awareness of fundraising compliance for charities in NI. ● Ability to work in an organised manner to meet deadlines within budget.
