Head of Finance

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (6-12 months)
Our client is working exclusively for an SME in Lincolnshire. They are recruiting for a Head of Finance on a Fixed Term Contract. As Head of Finance, you will be working with a fantastic team with big plans. This organisation strives to be industry leaders and is committed to excellence. The Role
Responsibilities:
1. Responsibility for the commercial interface with all customers:
o Monthly/quarterly pricing and reconciliations
o Annual customer negotiations on inflation - understanding key market cost drivers
o Ensure full understanding of the financial impact on the business of any customer's strategic decisions including promotions and other trade opportunities
o Costing work for new business
2. Responsibility for the weekly and month-end management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. Key month-end KPIs include:
o Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are complete and accurate to drive control through the monthly accounts process
o Ensure the accuracy of all primary statements, P&L, Balance and Cashflow and the explanation of material variances to both budget and prior year
o Drive reporting accuracy between the sum of the weekly flash accounts being as close as possible to the final month-end management accounts
3. Responsibility for the year-end statutory accounts from year-end close down through to statutory accounts preparation, including:
o Preparation of year-end audit file with the wider finance team
o Being the lead point of contact for the audit process
o Ownership of corporate and VAT and R&D tax requirements from a statutory perspective - at year end and throughout the financial year
o Filing of dormant accounts and other smaller statutory reporting requirements as required
4. Responsibility for the monthly cash flow forecast, profiling projected EBITDA, working capital movements, and forecasted capex spends - rolling 13-week forecast:
o Variances versus actual monthly cashflow as presented in the monthly management accounts to be explained
5. Responsibility for the capital expenditure process, including:
o Reviewing and challenging the capital expenditure papers submitted by the General Managers to ensure they meet the capital expenditure hurdle rates
o Looking at post-investment appraisal reviews as necessary
o Monitoring Capex spend versus budget
6. Finance lead on the system implementation project:
o Design/development of weekly/monthly reports
o Ensuring system adherence to maintain data integrity
7. Responsibility for the development and coaching of direct reports
