We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our education client in Cheshire and play a crucial role in supporting the finance department by ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions and documentation. This position is responsible for handling day-to-day financial tasks, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with the preparation of management accounts, budgets, and financial reports. The role contributes to the financial integrity and smooth operation of the organisation and would suit a Bookkeeper or Management Accountant, or an individual qualified by experience. As the Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for: Processing and managing purchase and sales invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. Preparing monthly management accounts, providing detailed financial reports. Assisting with financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management. Maintaining accurate records of transactions and ensure all financial documentation is up-to-date. Reconciling bank statements and resolving any discrepancies. Assisting with year-end accounts preparation. Supporting senior stakeholders with ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as needed. Ensuring compliance with financial best practices. The Finance Assistant will have the following skills and attributes: Proven experience in managing business accounts and finances. AAT qualified or equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience. Proficiency in Xero or similar accounting software. Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and financial software. Appointment will be subject to relevant checks and satisfactory references.
