Job Title: Bakery Product Developer
Reporting to: NPD Manager
Job purpose: Bakery Product Developer is primarily responsible for creating, testing and refining recipes for baked bread products, must balance the art of baking with the science of ingredients interaction, must stay updated with the latest trends in baking.
Panificio Italiano is an independent bakery in Iver, Buckinghamshire. It is a new state of art purpose built automated bakery. We bake quality products ranging from traditional recipes to new specialty breads.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Conceptualizing new bakery product ideas, creating recipe formulations, and conducting product trials and tests
2. Researching and developing new recipes for baked goods with the retail focus
3. Testing new recipes and making adjustments to improve the taste and quality
4. Monitoring baking processes and making necessary adjustments
5. Producing new products weekly to be presented to management and gain feedback
6. Conducting sensory evaluations and shelf-life testing for new products
7. Presenting new products to the customers

Requirements
1. Proven experience as Bakery Product Developer for retail
2. Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients
3. Creativity and innovation in recipe development, creative thinking and innovation skills to develop new, unique and marketable bakery products that meet customers’ changing preferences and needs
4. Excellent project management and organizational skills
5. Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively describe new product concepts to colleagues, management, and potential clients and provide clear instructions to bakery staff for product production.
6. Awareness of current market trends and keen interest in food and baking to develop products that are appealing and relevant to consumers
7. Passion for baking
