Are you a mechanically biased Machine Tool Technician with service and repair experience on CNC machines with Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain controls?
Our family-run client specialises in the repair and servicing of a wide range of CNC and manual engineering machinery. They work with a wide range of equipment from conventional machines to the latest CNC Technology and are looking for an experienced service engineer to join their small but growing team.
Commutable from Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Burton-on-Trent, Telford, Cannock, Crewe, Nantwich, Congleton, Macclesfield, Buxton, Derby, Ashbourne, Matlock, Bakewell or South Manchester, this role will allow you to return home most evenings and offers an excellent work-life balance.
Duties Include - Machine Tool Technician/Service Engineer:
1. Fault finding on a wide range of CNC machinery as well as service, maintenance, breakdowns and repairs
2. Working on servo motors, lineal rails, ball screws, spindles
3. Customer-facing role
4. Majority of travel to client sites is within a 75 miles radius
Key Skills / Experience Required - Machine Tool Technician/Service Engineer:
1. Able to fault find, repair and service metal cutting CNC machinery eg. Lathes, milling, borer, VTL etc… MUST have experience in these machines.
2. Mechanical bias but with a good electrical understanding - e.g able to isolate a machine, disconnect a motor, change a switch.
3. Experience/competence with Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain controls
4. Hands-on mechanical skills e.g stripping and building machinery
5. Good understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and machine geometry
6. Able to use and apply experience in adapting to new machinery
7. 3-axis machine experience, 5-axis would be beneficial but not a must
8. Time served or Mechanical qualification/apprenticeship trained
The Package:
1. Starting salary of up to £60k per annum, depending on skill level and experience
2. Door-to-door pay
3. Overtime above 40 hours paid at x1.5
4. Company Van, for work and personal use
5. 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays (33 days)
