Electrical / Controls Engineer WHAT YOU WILL DO The successful candidate will be working in an established team of engineers in a collaborative atmosphere where you will be welcomed to share your ideas and experience. You will work closely with the Industrial engineering and maintenance departments and be responsible for electrical and controls engineering across the site. Working to project timescale and deadlines you will be involved from initial concept through to manufacture and implementation and will produce electrical control system layouts and equipment development from concept through to manufacture issues. You will create electrical schematics, single line diagrams, control panel design and testing. Construct technical manuals or other associated documentation for all aspects of the Control System including panel design and manufacture and/or electrical installation. Maintenance and Control of technical documentation. (Manuals, software versions etc.) A hands-on practical approach to the management of the electrical contractors working on our site will be required. WHAT YOU BRING ALONG Software or Electrical/ Electronic Engineering degree or HND with relevant experience. Ideally have 18th Edition wiring Regulations City & Guilds 2382. Definition and design of Control Systems and PLC programming (Siemens TIA portal or similar). Design and implementation of automation systems, robotics experience is preferred. Variable Speed Drives / Inverter systems. Experience of installing and specifying communication bus e.g. modbus, TwinCAT and Profinet. LabVIEW would be advantageous and Electrical design experience including EPlan software. Attention to detail, ability to discuss, explain and challenge design concepts and ideas. Ability to see the bigger picture and predict consequences associated with design decisions and changes.
