The Centre Manager is the most senior post at the Young Learners Centre where the postholder is expected to successfully manage all aspects of the day-to-day running of the centre; including overseeing and implementing a robust and effective welfare, academic, leisure, and transfers programme. The Centre Manager is responsible for ensuring that the centre is set up and managed according to International House London policies and procedures, and that International House London provides and delivers the high-quality service that our students, group leaders, agents, and staff expect and deserve. The Centre Manager should be able to provide vision, leadership, support, and direction to all staff under their management as well as all students and group leaders attending our course, and maintain good communication and relationships with the host centre, Student Welfare, and Safety.
Responsibilities

Pastoral Care and Student Support
o Provide emotional support and guidance to students adjusting to a new environment.

Duties and Responsibilities of Centre Manager
Centre Management Team and Staff Management
o Hold regular centre management team meetings.
o Ensure centre management team are well-prepared.
o Provide guidance to centre management team if necessary.
o Create centre management team rota.
o Ensure all new starter checks are completed and filed to the highest standard, compliant with legal requirements and our internal policy requirements.
o Assist departmental managements with any staff concerns or performance management needs.
External Clients
o Liaise with host centre regarding any operational issues.
o Hold regular meetings with host centre representative.
o Hold daily meetings with group leaders.
o Show agents around on site visit or delegate.
Arrival/Departures
o Liaise with Head Office about students arriving/departing.
o Ensure rota for transfer day is prepared.
o Liaise with centre administrator to ensure accommodation is ready.
o Oversee smooth running of operations on transfer day.
Communication
o Hold daily assemblies.
o Respond to student disciplinary concerns.
o Liaise with welfare regarding safeguarding issues.
o Liaise with Head office regarding issues.
o Report any concerns about students or staff.
o Communicate with sales and agents.
o Respond to parents' concerns and questions.
Finance
o Manage centre budget e.g., petty cash, credit card spending.
o Monitor and record departmental spending.

Induction
The on-site induction will last for four days and will include orientation to the site, safeguarding and role-specific training. Pre-camp, there will be an online course to complete (approx. 5 hrs). You may also be invited to attend first aid training, group sessions at Head Office, and/or remote training sessions. All elements of the induction are paid (separate to your salary).

Hours of Work
Your normal hours of work are up to 48 per week over a six-day week, to be agreed depending on availability and centre requirements. This position involves working on weekends and other unsocial hours. Time off: You will have one day off per week (a full 24-hour period). There may be some restrictions on which day this can be, depending on operational need.
