HGV Mechanic Salary details provided on application Location: Tipton Department: Plant Hire Reports To: Workshop Manager Key Responsibilities: Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs Diagnose and repair faults in HGVs and commercial vehicles. Perform routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tyre checks. Carry out welding and fabrication tasks when required. Ensure all repairs meet DVSA and MOT standards. Prepare vehicles for annual inspections and MOT tests. Breakdowns & Emergency Repairs Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs. Prioritise unplanned work to ensure minimal downtime. Compliance & Documentation Complete all job cards, part requests, and inspection reports accurately. Ensure repairs and maintenance adhere to company and industry standards. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order. Teamwork & Development Work closely with the Workshop Manager and other team members. Participate in the on-call rota for emergency repairs. Attend training courses and stay up to date with industry regulations. Requirements City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Service, Maintenance & Repair. Minimum 3 years’ experience as an HGV Mechanic. Class 2 Driving Licence (Class 1 desirable). Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
