HSEQ Manager (Energy Storage Systems)
Location: Fully on-site at our UK Head Office in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 9HX, with frequent visits to other company sites across the UK
Schedule: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 pa DOE and qualification level

This standalone role plays a crucial part in ensuring our business operates responsibly and efficiently with safety, sustainability and quality at the core of everything we do.

What You’ll Be Doing
This standalone role is crucial in ensuring our business operates responsibly and efficiently with safety, sustainability, and quality at the core of everything we do.
Responsibilities include:
* Lead and manage all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) compliance.
* Develop and maintain ISO-certified management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, 14001, 9001).
* Oversee audits, inspections, and investigations ensuring non-conformances are addressed.
* Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and environmental responsibility across all teams.
* Provide training, coaching, and support to staff and management.
* Monitor and report on HSEQ KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and driving change.
* Stay ahead of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
* Conduct risk assessments, implement and maintain HSEQ policies and procedures.
* Investigate incidents and accidents, analyse root causes, and develop corrective and preventative measures.
* Communicate HSEQ-related information effectively to employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
* Promote sustainable practices and initiatives to reduce the organisation's carbon footprint.
* Monitor quality performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Interact with regulatory agencies, industry bodies, and other stakeholders to stay informed and address compliance issues.
* Prepare regular reports and presentations on HSEQ performance for internal and external stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
* 5+ years relevant experience in a similar role.
* NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals (or equivalent NVQ)
* IOSH membership (Cert/Tech).
* Valid driving licence.
Preferred:
* Environmental/quality qualifications (e.g., IEMA, LEAN, Six Sigma).
* NEBOSH Certificate in Construction.
* Strong working knowledge of UK HSE regulations and law, ISO standards and compliance.
* Experience in a similar HSEQ leadership role in energy or warehousing & logistics.
* Experience in risk assessment, Work Instructions, & Safe Systems of Work creation, manual handling training, incident and accident investigation, facility management, contractor control, and planned preventative maintenance programmes.
* Excellent communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Passion for continuous improvement and sustainability.
* Strong focus on KPI’s and outcomes, ensuring the successful delivery and completion of all projects and tasks while fostering a culture of compliance and excellence.
