Homeless & Housing Solutions Officer
Location: Redditch Borough Council (Hybrid - 2 days in office)Contract: 3 months Minimum Hours: 37 hours per weekRate: £30 per hour (Umbrella)Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
Redditch Borough Council is seeking an experienced Homeless & Housing Solutions Officer to join the team on a temporary basis. This role requires a proactive and knowledgeable individual who can effectively manage housing solutions and provide critical support to those facing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess homelessness applications in line with housing legislation and policies
* Provide expert advice and practical solutions to individuals at risk of homelessness
* Develop and implement personalised housing plans
* Work closely with landlords, housing providers, and support agencies
* Identify and secure suitable temporary and permanent accommodation
* Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legal and policy frameworks
Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in homeless and housing solutions
* Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, housing law, and welfare benefits
* Ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Experience using IT systems to manage casework and maintain accurate records
* Ability to work in a hybrid setting, with 2 days per week in the office
