West Berkshire Council is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team, reporting to the Team Manager, to provide essential social work support and contribute to the safeguarding and well-being of children in West Berkshire. The Role Key Responsibilities: Conducting assessments and providing interventions to support the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people. Work Collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure holistic support for children and their families. Attending and contributing to multi-agency meetings, including child protection conferences and care plan reviews. Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs and ensure the safety and well-being of children through regular monitoring and intervention The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: Qualified Social Worker with appropriate Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England. Experience working in a social work role, ideally within a children’s services setting. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory requirements, and safeguarding practices. Strong assessment, intervention, and report writing skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive working environment. Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands. A full UK driving licence and use of a car for work purposes.
