We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager at our location in Beccles.
The project manager’s role is to be responsible for leading the successful delivery of projects throughout their entire lifecycle, ensuring they are completed on-time, within budget and to the highest standards.
The project manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project and must be competent in managing six aspects: scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources.
As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for multiple projects, coordinating with resources from different PCE sites as required to ensure successful outcomes.
What does the role include?
1. Own the project, taking full responsibility for planning, executing, and delivering the project objectives including time, cost and quality/performance priorities.
2. Define and plan the project through the creation of the project management plan.
3. Continuously identify, assess, prioritise risks and implement mitigation plans to minimise their impact on the project.
4. Monitor and control project progress.
5. Proactively make timely decisions to ensure project success.
6. Communicate regularly with stakeholders. Keep them informed of progress, problems and issues. Seek guidance when necessary to ensure project success.
7. Build and maintain strong relationships and manage customer, stakeholder and internal project team expectations.
8. Build, lead and motivate the project team throughout the project.
9. Ensure work packages are allocated and the responsibilities identified.
10. Planning resource forecast and consulting with department managers and planning department for resource allocations.
11. Assess project progress, ensure alignment with objectives, and make informed decisions about whether to proceed, adjust, or terminate the project.
12. Communicate and act as prime point of contact with team members, customer, project-specific contractors, high-risk suppliers, etc as appropriate.
13. Manage and document project change requests, assess their impact on scope, schedule, and budget, and implement approved changes. Ensure stakeholders are informed of changes and their implications.
14. Identify and leverage opportunities for increased revenue or cost savings throughout the project lifecycle.
15. Propose innovative solutions and value-adding activities to enhance project outcomes and profitability.
What Skills and Experience are required?
1. Exemplary leadership qualities and exceptional communicator (oral and written).
2. Excellent customer management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
3. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
4. Ability to deliver effective and engaging presentations with confidence.
5. Advanced time management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
6. Solid knowledge and experience of Project Management methodologies and tools.
7. Strong financial acumen with experience in cost management and budgeting.
8. Ability to understand technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
9. 5-years’ experience in a Mechanical and electrical manufacturing environment.
10. Engineering/technical degree or equivalent preferred.
11. Experience of both sides of the Customer/Supplier portal, with full understanding of contracts, procurement and reviews.
12. A proactive and strategic thinker with a commitment to delivery excellence.
