Overview of Responsibilities
This role will have a starting salary of £18,810.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

The Role

As a Level 3 Apprentice Laboratory Technician, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining laboratory equipment under the instruction of more senior laboratory technicians so that it is available to ensure maximum utilisation and organisational benefit. You will also maintain safety, follow Operation Instructions to operate experiments or conduct analysis within the laboratory spaces under supervision, identify and escalate risks/issues to the supervisor, and support the improvement of documentation and carry out administrative tasks as requested.
You will also assist with the installation of experimental rigs or new equipment within the laboratory spaces under supervision and contribute to the sharing of best practices and learnings, allowing the transfer of knowledge gained from one laboratory space/piece of equipment to other laboratory spaces and equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard: Mechatronics Maintenance Technician / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
* Attend designated training provider and develop a good knowledge of technical skills.
* Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
