We are currently expanding our infrastructure management team and are looking for proven technology managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding and the drive and vision to take Amazon.com Data Centre Operations to the next level. The successful candidate will have experience managing people with varying skill sets, creating, tracking, and controlling budgets, devising strategies, mentoring people in all levels, sponsoring projects and proposing technical solutions. Key job responsibilities AWS technicians have industry-leading technical abilities and demonstrate a breadth of knowledge: • Take ownership of technical issues engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving • Strong problem-solving skills, driving investigations to root cause • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work • Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies • Maintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting • Improve effectiveness through process innovation • Must be commutable to the Thames Valley Region. A day in the life Customer trust is foremost for cloud services provided by Amazon Web Services. Our customers must be guaranteed that their data will never be exposed. This Decom Tech will be part of a team that executes the decommissioning & tracking of all equipment that is damaged or leaving the Datacentre. This includes but is not limited to all media types (disks, solid state disks, flash cards etc). The Decom Tech will be responsible for ensuring that all operational processes are followed during any decommissioning event and must ensure all work is carried out safely and securely.
