We have a 12 month secondment opportunity for the role of Respiratory Faster Diagnosis Clinical Nurse Specialist, with a focus to support and lead on the national Targeted Lung Health Check programme. This is a new and exciting opportunity to join the dynamic Respiratory Team within ESHT to support the suspected lung cancer pathway patients. The post holder will require excellent communication skills to develop highly effective working relationships helping to deliver waiting time standards and enhancing patient experience. Main duties of the job This post will be part of the close working Respiratory team to include Consultants, Respiratory / Lung Cancer Nurse Specialists, Diagnostic Teams, Service Managers and Patient Pathway Trackers. Person Specification Qualifications • NMC Level 1 Current Registration • Diploma • ENB 998 or equivalent • Management qualification or equivalent experience. • Evidence of continuous personal, professional and academic development to masters equivalent level. Experience Essential • Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical leadership or Head of Department. • Minimum of 3 years experience in dealing with respiratory patients and relatives. • Experience in dealing with multidisciplinary teams including senior clinicians. • Experience of working in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting Desirable • Participation in change management Skills Essential • Able to prioritise workload • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team as well as part of the wider multidisciplinary team. • Has basic knowledge of Cancer waiting time guidance and targets. • Awareness of changing trends within cancer referrals. • Knowledge and experience of handling complex relationships. Desirable • Advanced clinical, managerial and leadership skills
