We are currently seeking a Children’s Home Registered Manager to join our services in Barnsley, looking after a 2-bed home.
Main Purpose of Job
The Registered Manager holds accountability and overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home to ensure we deliver a high-quality level of care, promoting the rights of young people as individuals and providing them with quality care in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation.
To lead a team of care workers, ensuring good outcomes for young people within the home to meet their physical, psychological, emotional, and social development.
To contribute to the overall ethos, values, and aims of the organisation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for Service and Practice
* The development and delivery of high-quality care in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and the organisation's policies and procedures, integrating an equal opportunities approach and working in an anti-discriminatory way, incorporating safeguarding responsibilities.
* Adherence to all legislative guidelines regarding Health & Safety, ensuring that all staff have adequate working knowledge and training.
* Keeping appropriate records related to both young people and employees and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems within the organisation.
* Provision of management information, including the collection and return of statistical information as required.
* Developing and promoting new techniques and approaches to childcare provision based in the home and being part of the senior team of the organisation, positively promoting its well-being.
* Attending, preparing for, and chairing various meetings both internally and externally.
* Taking on-call responsibilities on a rota basis and undertaking sleep-in shifts to cover shortfalls if required.
* Writing concise and evaluative reports and overseeing all written communication to sustain the required standards.
* Responsible for decision-making when appropriate.
* Oversight of all admissions and discharges to the home.
* Innovating change and effectively leading a vision in line with the organisational ethos.
* All Managers will be expected to have a relevant Diploma level 5 or equivalent or be prepared to work towards this.
Human Resource Management
* Involvement in the recruitment of new employees, ensuring all relevant checks are completed.
* Ensuring all staff are adequately inducted, supervised, and appraised in line with the organisational policy.
* Overseeing the continuous professional development of the staff team, ensuring all mandatory training requirements are met.
* Maintaining effective rotas and completing monthly expenses.
* Undertaking the investigation of grievances, complaints, and disciplinary matters (at an appropriate level) in accordance with the organisational policies and procedures.
Management of Physical and Financial Resources
* Monitoring the service budget and all financial transactions, ensuring financial targets are achieved and adhered to.
* Ensuring that the overall maintenance of the service premises and equipment meets requirements.
External Affairs
* Promoting the organisation positively with external agencies, other professionals, and the general public as required.
* Liaising with commissioners/referrals manager regarding admissions.
* Attending and contributing to psychotherapy leadership and management forums and leading these meetings within the team.

Additional Benefits:
* 25 days per annum plus 8 statutory holidays.
* £2000 Bonus for Outstanding Ofsted Report.
* Full Occupancy Bonus - £100 a month.
* On Call payments - £25 weekday, £35 weekends.
* Normal working days are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm; however, managers are expected to ensure all rota requirements are met for their homes, which may require sleep-in duties.
* Petrol Allowance - Paid when using own car – proof of business insurance must be provided.
