We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a dynamic and inspiring team at a a school in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to deliver high-quality History lessons across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 (with the potential for A-Level History teaching). As a History Teacher, you will have the opportunity to shape students’ understanding of the past, fostering their critical thinking and analytical skills.
Your role will involve engaging students in a deep exploration of historical events while helping them develop skills in research, writing, and argumentation. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we welcome candidates who are committed to making a positive impact on young learners’ education. This role begins September 2025.
History Teacher Duties:
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging History lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5 .
* Teach students about key historical periods, events, and themes, encouraging them to critically engage with the past.
* Assess, track, and report on student progress to ensure high standards of attainment.
* Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students .
* Foster a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
* Encourage independent research and the development of analytical writing skills .
* Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and share best practices with colleagues.
* Organise and participate in field trips, historical society activities, and extracurricular opportunities .
* Work with parents and carers to support students’ academic progress and personal development.
Ideal History Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in History or a closely related field.
* Experience teaching History at KS3, KS4, and KS5 (desirable, but not essential for ECTs).
* A passion for History and a strong desire to make the subject engaging and accessible.
* Strong classroom management skills with high expectations for student success.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a History Teacher.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
