A new opportunity is available for an Operations & Supply Chain Manager to join a leading engineering company based in Telford. The company has operated for over 50 years and excels in their field of manufacturing, being regarded as a market leader by their peers.
The role of Operations & Supply Chain Manager is pivotal to the success of the overall operation and will report into the Director of Operations.
Role of Operations & Supply Chain Manager
* Monitor and evaluate practice performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and management systems.
* Prepare regular reports on practice performance & operational metrics.
* Identify opportunities to increase practice profitability, optimise revenue streams, and control costs.
* Manufacturing output and delivery.
* Drive performance.
* Lead improvements, development, and investments.
* Ensure quality and right first time.
* Lead a multifunctional team of Works Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leaders.
* Member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting into the Director and General Manager.
* Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and protocols to optimise practice efficiency.
* Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive prices while ensuring quality standards.
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors while negotiating to obtain the most competitive pricing and payment terms.
* Control all purchasing aspects within the organisation.
* Source and schedule all PPE, waste management, chemicals, and raw material.
Competencies required for Operations & Supply Chain Manager:
* Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
* Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

* Able to drive output across the business to achieve targets and objectives.
