Teaching Assistant - Intervention Support Lead
37 hours per week
Term time only (44.80 paid weeks)
Actual Salary £21,981 - £23,056 (FTE £25,584 - £26,835)
The purpose of the role is to further develop the support and provision for students at Preston School. This role will involve working with both individual students and small groups outside of their normal lessons, to enhance their ability to access learning and improve their interactions both in and out of the classroom. This work will also help to improve their personal well-being and self-esteem. The vast majority of the students will have an identified Communication and Interaction Special Educational Need or Disability.
Responsibilities include:
1. Leading 1:1 and small group interventions for students of all years, particularly Key Stage.
2. Liaising with SENCO, pastoral staff, and the Senior Leadership Team over the progress of students.
3. Liaising with the families of students on intervention programmes to update on their progress and barriers.
4. To liaise with outside agencies who also work with students on intervention programmes.
Interventions that currently run include:
1. Lego therapy
2. Life Skills
3. Archery
4. Talk About
5. Off-site interventions such as horse-riding and other trips and visits.
6. We are very open to exploring new interventions that would support the well-being and learning of our students.
