This is a remote position. Our client, a leading regional firm, are seeking a Solicitor to join their busy Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence department. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing team that handles a wide range of personal injury and clinical negligence claims. Our client welcomes applicants with varying levels of experience, including those from outside the local area, as remote work with occasional office visits will be considered. Role Overview: The successful candidate will manage a caseload of diverse claims, assisting clients who have been affected by road traffic accidents, employer’s liability, public liability incidents, medical negligence, and more. You will have the opportunity to handle cases from initial client contact through to settlement, working closely with clients to deliver the highest level of service. This is a full-time position, though part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate. You will report directly to the Director & Head of Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence. Key Responsibilities: Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert, empathetic advice on sensitive matters. Ensure clients feel supported throughout the claims process, offering clarity on difficult issues when needed. Case Management: Independently manage a caseload of personal injury and clinical negligence claims, from initial client consultations through to settlement. Ensure all actions comply with relevant legal protocols and Civil Procedure Rules. Case Preparation and Documentation: Conduct all necessary investigations for claims, including obtaining medical (and non-medical) evidence, instructing expert witnesses, liaising with Counsel, and preparing documents for Court if litigation is required. Funding and Advice: Advise clients on potential funding options, including conditional fee agreements (CFA) or other funding arrangements, ensuring the client understands their financial obligations throughout the case. Liaison and Communication: Collaborate with external stakeholders such as opponents, insurers, ATE providers, and experts. Draft letters of advice, witness statements, and other key documentation. Costs Management: At the conclusion of a claim, assist in the assessment of costs, including any success fees and working with a costs draftsman where necessary to ensure the financial aspects of the case are handled properly. Team Contribution: Work closely with the team, sharing knowledge and providing assistance where needed. Support business development efforts to promote the firm's reputation and secure new clients. Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:15 PM, Monday to Friday (flexibility available upon discussion during the interview process). Salary: Competitive salary, dependent on experience, to be discussed during the interview. Requirements Legal Expertise: Prior experience in Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence is preferred, but candidates with other relevant experience will also be considered. Organisational Skills: Strong ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise tasks effectively, and work to deadlines without compromising on attention to detail Client-Focused Approach: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive client situations with empathy, professionalism, and clear communication. Commercial Awareness: A practical understanding of the commercial considerations of cases, including the ability to assess risks, outcomes, and funding options.
