Housing And Support is excited to be be working in conjunction with a organisation who are to open a new children’s home and is seeking a dynamic and experienced Children’s Home Manager to lead and shape the future of our new facility. As we establish this new home, you will play a vital role in developing the care environment, implementing operational procedures, and building a high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact from the ground up and to provide exceptional care for children and young people in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead & Develop: Oversee the establishment of the new children’s home, including setting up processes, policies, and creating a positive culture for both staff and residents.
* Operational Management: Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring all areas are operating efficiently, from care provision to health and safety protocols.
* Compliance & Regulatory: Ensure the new home meets all legal and regulatory requirements, including compliance with Ofsted and local authority standards. Ensure staff and children’s records are maintained in line with best practices.
* Care Planning & Development: Design and implement tailored care plans for children, focusing on their emotional, educational, and developmental needs. Provide consistent monitoring and evaluation to ensure the plans are effective.
* Team Building: Recruit, train, and mentor staff, creating a cohesive and motivated team dedicated to providing high-quality care.
* Financial & Resource Management: Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring that the home is operating within financial parameters while maintaining a high standard of care.
* Partnerships & Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, families, and stakeholders, ensuring the best outcomes for the children in your care.
Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in a managerial role within children’s residential care, ideally with experience in opening or managing a new service.
* Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of the regulatory framework, safeguarding protocols, and best practices in residential childcare.
* Skills: Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. The ability to build and inspire a team while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
