An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Front End Web Developer reporting into our IT Development Manager to support and work alongside our IT Development team in order to carry on improving the existing tools, and to begin building the next generation. The Front End team create user interfaces to our internal and customer-facing tools, working closely with our legal team to produce training and advisory modules. In conjunction with our wider services, these enable our clients to minimise risk and promote growth. This role has flexibility on location, with the successful candidate ideally based in Hull with remote work also a possibility. Responsibilities include: Building high-quality user interfaces for our growing portfolio of client support tools Working with our Product and UX teams to define how our customers interact with our platform, and how this will evolve Designing and building modern, polished user interfaces to these systems Ensuring that these UIs work well for a wide range of users and devices Helping to shape several major projects designed to improve user experiences across our platform Working with other developers to add to and update our internal component library and style guide as required Constantly looking to improve the rradar platform, pipeline and the toolsets used to build these Working with stakeholders to translate complex user journeys and wide-ranging requirements into enjoyable user experiences Using various monitoring tools to evaluate user successes across our tools, and suggesting improvements based on these data points Working across a range of products, and identifying and resolving issues within the tools as they are reported Providing support to other members of the development team as new tools and technologies are introduced You At rradar, we're big fans of new technology, and your interest in design and the web will ensure that you're up-to-date with the latest industry trends and tools. Your attention to detail will ensure that your work is full of the small tweaks that really do make a difference. You'll have demonstrable experience of mobile first web design and a deep understanding of best practice for the web, including accessibility and performance. Essential Skills required: Excellent skills with modern Javascript, HTML5, CSS and responsive design Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React Knowledge of pre-processors and build tools, ie.
