Salary: Up to £57,400 - paid hourly

Background in electrical buying/mechanical - Ideally around 60/40 or 70/30 Split Electrical/Mechanical

The Role:
1. The Multi-skilled Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day engineering function - providing scheduled preventative & unplanned/reactive breakdown maintenance using Best Engineering Practices quickly & efficiently whilst finding cost-effective improvements to ensure the reliability & efficiency of equipment & site assets.
2. The Multi-skilled Engineer will also work following GMP, SHE & TFMS/BRC policy as well as completing Audit & closing the action promptly, keeping a record for traceability.
3. The MS Engineer will be responsible for delivering Plant Uptime & Maintenance KPIs through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance.
4. Report to & support the Engineering Head of Department.
5. Support the team & assist in developing other engineers/machine operatives.
6. Lead effective communication between shifts.
Required Skills & Experience:
1. Strong electrical skills.
2. Computer literate - familiar with electrical, pneumatic & mechanical drawings.
3. Some automation skills for fault finding & re-mediation.
4. Good mechanical skills - for diagnosis & replacement.
5. The ability to complete any maintenance tasks, identifying & implementing improvements.
6. Recognised apprenticeship completed.
7. Must have an electrical qualification - Btech Electrical or equivalent NVQ or city & guilds.
8. Competent in mechanical engineering.
9. Automation - CI tools & techniques would be an advantage.
10. Experience within maintenance.
11. Experienced Multi-skilled Engineer ideally with a fresh produce/chilled working background (fresh product, chilled food, ready meals, food to go).
12. Food production/manufacturing would be desirable.
13. FMCG Experience would be desirable.
14. Flexible to work shifts - 4 on 4 off days/nights in rotation: 12 hour shifts.
15. Great communication skills & the ability to manage contractors on site.
16. Ability to work under pressure & happy to work in a chilled environment.
17. Happy to roll sleeves up & get stuck in - able to look after all machinery on site, including manual handling, sometimes at height & in varying temperatures.
18. IOSH desirable.
19. H&S and Food Hygiene trained.
20. Comfortable to work in an ever-changing environment as the company continues its growth.
Salary & Benefits:
The starting salary for this role is up to £57,400 paid hourly (£21.50- £23.00 per hour), 33 days holiday (including bank holidays back in lieu), pension, life assurance, income protection, extensive discounts for you & your family, career development support and mental health support.
