Description We are looking for a Highway Safety Inspector to primarily help cover the Central and North Coast areas of the County. You will undertake programmed safety inspections and also respond to customer enquiries relating to defects on the highway network. A large element of the role involves walking the urban areas undertaking safety inspections in all weather conditions. About the role Working closely with network management and operational teams to undertake inspections in accordance with highways and environment maintenance plans and ensuring defects are rectified in accordance with prescribed timescales. Issuing of informal notices relating to overgrown vegetation. Further, the role will train new and existing staff in survey methods, deal with the general public and liaise with utility companies on matters concerning remedial action on works. About you We are looking for you to bring: Proven track record of working in maintenance, surveys and inspections, either in office or on works. Demonstrates an ability to read and work with maps Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload in a pressurised environment, despite interruptions and obstacles.
