One of the UK’s most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations is looking for a Community Mission Developer within the Cannock Chase district.
The Community Mission Developer is crucial to our mission to serve the communities within the Cannock Chase district working with the two corps based in Cannock and Hednesford. This role will support and develop our existing Christ-centred community programmes ensuring they are effective responses to the issues that are affecting the vulnerable members of our communities.
The Community Mission Developer will understand the work is Christian ministry and will express and communicate their Christian faith within their daily work as well as at events within schools, churches, and local organisations. The role will participate within the leadership of the church and be expected to engage in their own discipleship to resource their ministry.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
1. A vibrant Christian faith with knowledge, experience and understanding of the aims of the spiritual and community programme activities.
2. Strong previous experience of working in a similar role developing and managing corps/church programmes to meet the needs of the community.
3. Previous experience of corps/church leadership, and helping people explore the Christian faith in creative and relevant ways.
4. Demonstrable strong communication skills both verbal and written.
5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop successful and collaborative working relationships both within and outside of the Corps.

1. Experience of funding and grant application processes.
This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian, actively involved in their own church and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
