The Role
:
As a Workshop Supervisor, you will lead and supervise a team of HGV technicians to ensure optimal performance and high-quality repairs.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage workshop work in progress and provide timely updates on progress to service reception or customers.
2. Address job issues in real-time to ensure repair quality and minimise downtime.
3. Oversee and sign off on job documents.
4. Perform routine maintenance and repairs according to manufacturer procedures.
5. Conduct fault diagnosis using the latest diagnostic equipment.
6. Perform quality control checks on technician repairs.
7. Communicate effectively with workshop technicians and service reception to ensure clear job specifications and time budgets.
8. Maximise shift performance through effective problem-solving, coaching, and development.
Requirements:
9. Previously worked as a Workshop Controller or in a similar role.
10. Experience in diagnostics, servicing, and maintenance of HGVs.
11. City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in heavy vehicle repair and maintenance.
12. Ideally have experience with specific truck brands and dealership environments.
13. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
