The Post: As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining Internationally competitive. The role of the SNBTS Quality and Regulatory Compliance Directorate is to develop and deliver a Quality Management System throughout SNBTS, which satisfies regulatory requirements whilst ensuring a high quality, efficient transfusion process from donor to patient. Members of the SNBTS Quality Team require to be forward thinking and imaginative with the drive and self-motivation to relish a challenge. The post will be within the Quality and Regulatory Compliance Directorate, in the Quality Systems Team. The Candidate: Applicants for this Post should be educated to at least Higher Level, have a high level of competence in office administration including excellent communication skills, personal organisation and advanced keyboard skills. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel) is also required and confidence working in a high-throughput office environment. An understanding of the NHS Scotland and/or experience working in a healthcare environment would be advantageous. The nature of the post requires attendance at the Jack Copland Centre each day. Full training and on-going support will be given for this key role. There is currently no routine requirement for “out of hours” or shift working for this post. Location and Working Pattern: The post will be based at The Jack Copland Centre, 52 Research Avenue North, Currie, Edinburgh EH14 4BE. Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week.
